This venue is named after the Mahalaxmi Temple. According to the locals, in ancient times, Shree Parbati, during her Chaturshasthi Linga tour, took a bath at the Nausinga shrine and paid homage to Gobrateshor Mahadev. When Shringi Rishi was meditating in Sisnery Cave, Shree Mahalaxmi and Shree Bhairab manifested in Gundu. Later on, through meditation, they were established at Devisthan, and it is said that they were again placed at Lubhu. The Mahalaxmi Temple exists as one of the nine heavenly power centers in the Kathmandu Valley. It is proven by the copper inscription kept inside the Mahalaxmi Temple in Nepal Sambat 847 that it was a place of religious importance in the Malla era.
