Vajra, first and foremost, offers an architectural marvel that harmonizes beauty, practicality, and safety. Phil Hawes, its chief architect, was associated with Frank Lloyd Wright and taught graduate architecture with Bruce Goff, both great advocates of organic architecture. While constructing Hotel Vajra, Hawes skillfully combined the traditions of Nepal's greatest architect Araniko, known for pagoda-style roofing, and the use of local materials with the latest earthquake-proof techniques.
